EV - Move archived data from Windows File System to EMC VNX NAS

This issue has been solved. See solution.
I have a site where data is currently archived from a Windows File-share to EV, and the placeholder service is running on the Windows server. I need to decomission this Windows server and move all of the data (archived and non-archived) to an EMC VNX subsystem which will provide the file-sharing service.
As the placeholder service cannot run on the EMC VNX I presume we will need to run a 'proxy' foor EV to be able to manage the data (as per NetApp configs). My questions are as follows:
1. Is the 'proxy' configuration valid for this setup ?
2. Is there a way of moving the data (archived with placeholders and non-archived data) without having to use FSAUTIL to recall all of the data in the process ?
Thanks,
AJ.

EV FSA supports NetApp natively and doesn't require a proxy. I believe the same thing applies to EMC Celerra/VNX according to the compatibility charts. See page 60.
