Ev Sites within One Ev Organization

This issue has been solved. See solution.
If you have an Enterprise Vault Environment setup with EV 8.0 SP4 on Windows 2003 SP2 servers, can you add a Windows 2008 x64 server and create a new EV site for another domain within this EV organization?
My answer would be no. Please confirm it is not possible.

Hi Judy,
A new site indicates a new directory database.
If you have a seperate sql-server or instance for this new site, why not?
As a matter of fact, we're running 1 site on w2003sp2, sql2005sp3, and have installed a proof of concept site on w2008r2x64, sql2008r2x64. two different sites, same (windows) domain, 2 sql servers, 2 directory databases. Very nice to test intersite move-archive functionality ;-)
Thank you, Gertjan

Thanks for your quick response Gertjan
We would be adding the EV Site with a different Windows domain. That will be a really good test for moving an archive between different EV sites. Documentation says a two-way trust is required to move an archive across two active directory domains, so I have to assume that this kind of move is possible.

Actually you can have
Actually you can have multiple sites in one EnterpriseVaultDirectory database
in fact theres actually a bug that was submitted not so long ago regarding the Default Retention categories etc being set for the wrong site
JW2 is right on both counts.
JW2 is right on both counts. You can have two sites in one EV "organisation" (to coin a Microsoft Exchange term)
