  • 1.  EV-SSL doesn't work on some devices

    Posted Jul 10, 2014 07:04 AM

    Hi,

    We have EV-SSL working on a number of sub-domains, most devices work fine and display the EV-SSL with three exceptions.

    2 * Windows 8 machines running IE10, these show normal SSL but no EV-SSL

    1 * Iphone on 7.12 running Safari, shows normal SSL but not EV-SSL

    Every other computer (lots) i have tested work fine.

    What would stop these devices from showing the EV-SSL and what can be done to the devices to make them display it?

    Hi Si_Taylor101,

    Can you verify on these machines if the advance settings in IE are setup:

    Internet Options -> Advanced ->

    enable "Check for server certificate revocation *
    enable "Check for publisher's certificate revocation"
    enable "Check for signatures on downloaded programs"

    If not match the difference between working machines with IE and not working ones.

    Regarding Safari I would do the same comparing them.

    Iphone support EV-SSL since 2009 so I guess it is just a settings.

    Hi,

    Yes they are all checked.  It appears to be specifically IE that has the problem, Chrome works fine?
