EV sync adds decimal to Outlook 2010 reminders

Dear Forum,

Here's a strange one that appears since we installed Outlook 2010:

When the EV client synchronizes in RPC over Http mode, the reminder values in a new meeting request are changed with a lot of decimal and the free/busy of attendees are no more visible.

Before the EV client synchronizes, everything is ok but as soon as it initiates the sync, the value of the reminders is changed and, for any new attendees added to the meeting, the free/busy informations are not available.

If Outlook 2010 is restarted, everything will be ok until the next EV sync.

This behavior doesn't occur when using Outlook 2007.

The problem is also the same when using EV9 or EV10 http-only client with Outlook 2010.

We are using EV9 sp2 and EV is published using ISA 2006.

Do you have any ideas about this behavior?

Thank you for your help.

Is this happening for all

Is this happening for all users?  Does it happen when doing a synch without RPC/HTTP?

Can you reproduce it on a test user? Is the reminder from an archived item, or a regular non-archived item?

Thanks

So behavious my Outlook 2010 also!

Since a few weeks I encounter the problems with 12 (!) decimals for reminders. After a while when Outlook is running.

Today I decided to search for a solution for this annoyance and I did a search: decimal +outlook reminder.

Well, in fact there was only one hit... This post on a forum.

I'm using the laptop from my company. I'm nearly never at the office (last time, 3 months ago) so I rely heavy on VPN for synchronizing with the Exchange (2010) servers.

Normally I always hibernate my system, so it can occur that Windows7 (and Outlook) will not be closed, for days/weeks. I'm not sure WHEN the problem occurs with 'adding the decimals' but I will have a close look!

Hope to hear/read more from this thread!

Thank you, with kind regards, Arjan Vos NL/DE

Hello VosAJM, So, I'm not

Hello VosAJM,

So, I'm not alone :-). I still have the issue. From my side, I can reproduce the issue each time the EV client connects using rpc/http.

You can try launching outlook, create a new a meeting request and leave it open, have a look at the reminder there should be no decimal yet.

Then, launch an EV sync and right after, there chould be decimals in the reminder.

I'm working this afternoon with Symantec support on this issue.
