This issue has been solved. See solution.

Hi All,

We are in the process of upgrading from version 9 to 10. I am pushing out the Outlook Add-in 10.1.1173 to some stations for testing. While reading the upgrade guide it pointed me to: http://www.symantec.com/business/support/index?page=content&id=TECH175938  to get a couple hotfix files for our current version (9.0 build 1193). I copied the files into the specified locations as instructed.

However when I open outlook and go Help>About Enterprise Vault it shows "Light functionality enabled" and I am not able to view any of the properties of any vault mailboxes (one of the 'symptoms' of the light functionality of the add-in).

Any ideas how to resolve this, or anyone else ran into the same issue?

Thanks!

In your Desktop policy>Advanced Tab> Outlook what do you have Outlook Add-In behavior set to?

Interesting. I wouldnt have thought to look there but it is set to HTTP-Only. I dont think it was set to that prior to the hotfix, could the hotfix have changed that setting? I know for sure we did not have "light functionality enabled" on the help>about window, and we *dont* see that on current 9.0.0.1193 clients.

Would it be OK to change that to Normal while we have mixed clients out there? (EV10.1.1173 test add-ins and EV9.0.0.1193 add-ins)

I doubt the hotfix would have changed this, I am pretty sure that is the default setting.

You can change it if you wish, it won't hurt anything, especially if you intend for you user to be able to see the properities.

This TN has a bit of info about that setting.

Thanks all, I think we will leave it at this setting until we are done with the EV10 upgrade, and then explore it further. I was mostly concerned that the hotfix was improperly installed, or that we could potentially run into issues down the road.
