Hey Guys

I am new to evault and am not really familir with it so excuse my stupid questions. I need to do the following:

1) Search 3 users Exchange 2010 mailboxes for Items that have been archived by eVault, specifically looking at Insstant Message Conversations (We do archive conversations)

2) Export a copy of that data to the PST or ZIP file.

I know how to do the above using Discovery Management in Exchange 2010, but dont know how to search the 3 users mailboxes and Vault Archive. Does a symantec document exist that provides this type of direction?

Thanks,

Robert

this is a perfect use case for Discovery Accelerator or Clearwell. do you have either of those?

worst case, you could login to your EV server with the service account and use http://localhost/EnterpriseVault/search.asp

ok. So then it would be login to the evault server and then use the evault service account or any admin account? Sorry i dont mean to ask dumb questions but this got dumped on me.

Would i need to add any Exchange Account permissions to use the above method? Or am i just searching the vault itself?

And i dont think we have the DA or Clearwell.

Thanks,

Robert

if you dont have DA or Clearwell then here are some more details around using the search.asp:

1. login to your EV server with the EV service account

2. open the Vault console

3. double click on each of the archives you want to search and grant the EV service account read permissions

4. open IE and browse to http://localhost/EnterpriseVault/search.asp

Hi,

You can create Case in Discovery Accelerator and select the vault store associated with 3 user archives.

Then create New search and select those 3 archvies / provide name of 3 archvies in archives option.

Then create search as per your requirement and accept those search.

Once you accept that search you get option to export data using export tab.

Thanks,

Ajay
