Hello All,

We're currently using EV 2007 SP6 and recently we are getting a number of these errors:

In fact, we are getting so many of these that it is shutting down Enterprise Vault.  I'd like to see what we can do to minimise these or eradicate.  Does anyone know how I can identify the VaultID?  Is the VaultID the ID of the Vault store or the actual user archive?  Any help anyone can offer?

assume you have seen this?

if you have, then you probably need to look at the details of the items being archived at the time of the error.

The size specifically.

Thanks GCox, I've made some progress with this...

I can see that at the time we are getting these errors, we are also getting a lot of errors in the Enterprise Vault Converters Log (Event ID 6497).  I've managed to use the ArchiveID in the 6592 errors to identify the mailbox and folder path.  Strangely, all of the users who generate this error have ".MSG" files in the folders.  So the folder will contain normal Outlook Items and also contain items where the subject will give the name of the actual file (This is a message.MSG)

Is there a way to force EV to archive these or just ignore them?  We're using EV2007 SP6

Thanks

Have you checked your SQL transaction logs?

When running an Archive Task, Event ID: 6592 error may be generated.

Hi Tony,

Yes I have and I'm assured that SQL is fine.  It's definitely something to do with this message type .MSG.  Can I add it to the exclusion key:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\KVS\Enterprise Vault\ExcludedFileTypesFromConversion

???

No, I would not recommend that.  What version of Outook do you have on the EV server?

When do they plan to upgrade?  I would feel pretty confidently that the issue is resolved in the newer releases.

Have a read of this:

During an archiving run, an Event ID 6592, "Abnormal error occurred Reference: GOPV/dt" is reported for certain e-mail items.
