    Posted Mar 31, 2015 08:57 AM

    Hello,

we have 7.5 SP1 HF5 and we need to check whether Agents are able to send events when application start or stop. This application is on shared drive and shared drive is mapped under logged user. Till now we did not find way how to have these events from applications on shared drive. Anybody has idea how to do it?

    Thank you

If I've correcly understood, It sounds like a monitoring of service? If yes, then for such case there is a "Monitor Solution" solution product in SMS/ITMS suite.

Using "Monitor Agent" and properly created Monitor Policy, you can monitor "Service" state of any available services or monitor "NT Events"l -> according to rule condition it will triggers a rule whether service is started or stopped and you can even set a task for such case to receive an email when rule triggers.

    Hello Igor,

no, for example we have Firefox and Opera installed on shared drive and user can trigger it only from shared drive. Customer need to monitor whether users triggers those browsers from shared drive or from your own Flash drive for example

If we use monitor with deny application and user opens application from shared drive agent is sending stop event to SMP and application is blocked. Unfortunately in the event there is not any info from where the application was triggered.
