Excel profile information stored in Layer

Created: 16 Nov 2012 | 1 comment

We have a situation where users opening and editing Excel files via the Excel 2007 layer are being logged under the layer creators profile ID.  So this is resulting in audit trails etc being usless as it shows the creator of the layer editing files as opposed to the actual user.  It looks like I will need to clear all references of the creators profile out of the layer. Has anyone else seen this issue and managed to resolve it, I will search through the layer but I would appreciate any information from any others that have experience this and manged to resolve it.

Many thanks in advance

I would recommend searching the virtual package for instances of the layer creator's SID, to figure out exactly what is going on.

Virtualisation should normally merge the HKCU registry keys in the layer, with the HKCU keys of the logged in user, but if any identity information is stored as HKey_Users\<SID>\.... instead of HKCU\...... then of course the user identity will always point back to the layer creator.  Thus if you find any captured references that include HKey_Users, these need to be transposed back to HKCU
