Exception thrown after agent install/push

Created: 15 Jun 2013 | 3 comments

Hi,

An exception is thrown after each remote agent push.

Steps to replicate.

1. From the Backup and Restore ribbon, i select Add (Add Servers).

2. Select Microsoft Windows computers and servers.

3.Tick Allow establish trust.

4. Type the machine name and add.

5. Select my system logon account

6. Select both Upgrade the current backup agent and restart remote server if required.

After the successfull is complete, i get the following exceptions.  After clicking OK, Backup Exec 2012 closes, and i then need to restart it.

This happens every time i add a new server.

I am afraid the text in your screenshot is too tiny to make out.  Do cut and paste the error messages.

...have you verified that the RAWS agent is started and publishing correctly to the media service? haveyou checked to make sure that any AV installed isn't blocking the agent from communicating?

Thanks!

Hello there,
You may want to refer to the following technotes

http://www.symantec.com/docs/TECH204129  : Admin Console reports Exception has been thrown by a target of an invocation and closes

http://www.symantec.com/docs/TECH156616  : Upgrade or installation of Backup Exec fails with error : "The install failed with an unexpected error:Exception has been thrown by the target of an invocation."

http://www.symantec.com/docs/TECH157931  : Error "The installer failed with an unexpected error: Exception has been thrown by the target of an invocation" while attempting to install the Remote Agent

If the issue does not resolve with solution of any technote above then I would request you to open a Support case with Symantec. As the console is crashing this will require thorough troubleshooting.

Thanks,
