We started using Backup Exec 2010 R2 recently and since we began using it, our MS Exchange 2007 backups are failing with this error:

V-79-57344-65233 - AOFO: Initialization failure on: "\\servername\Microsoft Information Store\First Storage Group". Advanced Open File Option used: Microsoft Volume Shadow Copy Service (VSS).
Snapshot provider error (0xE000FED1): A failure occurred querying the Writer status.

Check the Windows Event Viewer for details.

Writer Name: Exchange Server, Writer ID: {76FE1AC4-15F7-4BCD-987E-8E1ACB462FB7}, Last error: The VSS Writer failed, but the operation can be retried (0x800423f3), State: Waiting for backup complete notification (5).

Event viewer shows:

Exchange VSS Writer (instance 8955cc69-bcc7-4846-8a91-7654c4d969f7:18) failed with error code -2403 when preparing the database engine for backup of storage group 'First Storage Group'.

The operating system is MS Server 2008 R2. I've looked to see if there is a VSS update for this version of the OS but there isn't one I can find. I've also tried the suggestions in Support and so far nothing has corrected this issue.
