exchange backup problem

error code 58.

 

can any one please help me out in resolving this issue.

Both the systems are pinging to each other, but unable to take the backup. host record has also been added on both system.

A status code 58 means the client does not accept Netbackup connections attempts.

Check that software firewalls allow both incoming & outgoing connection on 1556 or 13724.

Please test connectivity from master amd media server.

As per TN in Nicolai's post use bptestbpcd.

Please create bpcd log folder on Exchange client under <install-path>\veritas\netbackup\logs.

Then, run bptestbpcd as per the TN from master and media server:

bptestbpcd -verbose -debug -client <client hostname>

Please post output of command as well as client's bpcd log.
