When i perform the information store backup, it backs up all good and fine without error to the backup to disk device. it is backing up with the same credentials that were used in backup exec 10.0 to perform mailbox backups. when i try to restore one message in a mailbox, using the same credentials it used to backup, i get the following error:

Restore- \\**server**\Microsoft Information Store\First Storage Group
Unable to restore any content for User, Name because the Microsoft Exchange database that hosts that mailbox is offline or the mailbox doesn't exist.

the mailbox does in fact exist because i am able to log into it, however it will not restore messages to it. i am performing a brick level backup to see if that will work, however the backup usually takes 40+ hours. it has worked in the past with 10, so i am guessing that it will work with 11.

Hello,

-- Are you trying a redirected restore?

-- Did you select the option "restore over existing" under tools> Options> Restore?

Thank You,

Shweta

not a redirected restore, i am trying to restore to my box that i know is active and online, and meets all criteria to be able to restore. the legacy mode will backup my box and allow individual item restore, however i want to use GRT, because i dont want to spend 40 hours backing up everyone's mailboxes when the GRT will do it in 1
