Exchange Mailbox folders

This issue has been solved. See solution.
I'm trying to cut down the time of my Exchange 2003 backups.
I currently have all Mailbox folders selected, for example, the Common Views, Deferred Action, Finder, Freebusy Data, Schedule, Shortcuts, Top of Information Store, Views.
I have three questions:
Other than the Information Store folder, what is the main purpose of these folders?
Is it sufficient to just select the Information Store folder for backup?
Restoring the subfolders within the IS sufficient for a successful restore?
Thank you,
Richard

Hi,
Then you're doing a non-GRT backup which is never as fast as a GRT backup. Essentially you are doing an item-by-item backup of your Information Store.
Try a GRT-based backup (without AOFO on) and your backups should be faster.
For restore purposes in terms of a DR-type situation you don't want to leave anything off.
Select the IS in its entirety.
THanks!
