Exclude directory-name

Created: 04 Feb 2013 • Updated: 04 Feb 2013

Hello there,

I'm using Backup Exec 2010 and my backup is running too long caused of too much data.

So I want to exclude some directoties. My folder system looks like this:

Customer1

-- acquisition

-- order

-- archive

Customer2

-- acquisition

-- order

-- archive

Customer3

-- acquisition

-- order

-- archive

And so on... I want to backup the whole Data excluding the "archive"-Folder in each directory. How can I do this?

When I try to wildcard-exclude Z:\customers\*\archive\* it doesn't work... the data is still getting backed up.

But I don't want to make an own exclude-rule for every customer... this would be about 3000 rules/lines

How can I manage to exclude all archives without moving them? (the boss doesn't want to get them moved)

Thanks & greets

Andreas

Edit. Damn... after re-reading the forums I fount out, that it's working with ** instead of *. So nevermind... thanks anyways!
