This issue has been solved. See solution.

Hi, we are running Enterprise Vault 8.0.4.1991 and would like to turn on Auto Activation for new users created in AD.  However, we would like to prevent users in a particular OU (and its children) from being included in the activation.  What would be the best way of doing this?
Thanks in advance.

Provisioning will be applied

Settings and Policies will be applied to the first Provisioning group the users are a member of, so if you create a Provisioning group and put it at the top and target the OU's you do not want auto-enabled it leave them be.

Its all about the Rank

The Trusted evtools man is right GB002010!

  1. Create a new Provisioning Group called "Excluded OU" and do not set the option to "Automatically enable mailboxes" on that Provisioning Group
  2. Under Targets > Exchange > Domain name, right-click on Provisioning Group and select Properties.
  3. Move your new Group to the top of the list and click OK.

Now, as this OU is serviced by your top ranked Provisioning Group, the one in second place will ignore that OU and its babies....
