  • 1.  Excluded devices block on SEP Device control policy

    Posted Nov 04, 2010 02:22 AM

    Hi Support,

I am trying to implement blocking USB Flash drives and allow only specific flash drives. Had already added specific flashdrive in hardwared device list and excluded from blocking. Had also excluded HID, CD/DVD drives, Biometrics and Printing devices from blocking. On Windows XP and Windows Vista Machines, policy is ok. However on Windows 7 machines, Excluded devices (CD/DVD ROM, Printers) were block.

    Any Ideas?

    Cheers

    MarcJay

That's about it. All you have to do now is test.

And add the Autorun.inf  files in the Application control and set it to block for USB storage devices and other removable media.

Even after rebooting if it is giving problem once again double check the corresponding policy.Whether your Windows 7 clients are present in some other group? If yes move one or two clients to the group which this policy is working fine,in the client side assure that it is received latest policy restart it once and check.Even after this if you are facing the same problem pls log a case with Symantec.
