I am truobleshooting why some of my large backup jobs (over 150GB) are slow during the verify process. This is on Fulls and Diffs.
Can anyone explain the what is happening during the verify?

Verify uses a checksum
Verify uses a checksum calculation method & BE checks the tape to read the data that has been written...Successful verify confirms that data can be read from the tape
Couple of reasons as to why verify could run slow if "fast append" & "fast file restore" are disabled
What is "Fast Append" and
What is "Fast Append" and "Fast File Restore"?
Where do I enable it at?
Is there a detailed white paper on the verify process?
Check this KB for enabling
