Export error exporting a SVS application
Updated: 29 Jul 2010 | 7 comments
This issue has been solved. See solution.
I am new to SVS and finally figured out how to run HCLL (a bloodbank application) in SVS. However, when I try to export it to create a .vsa file, it gets 3/4 of the way thru then gives an error 18 (which I realize is a failure to open or read a file) and the cancels. Any ideas as to how to troubleshoot this problem?

Open files
Most of the time error 18 is because of open files, and even when you de-activated the layer the open file seems to be there. There are several good post on how to trouble shoot this error. http://www.symantec.com/connect/blogs/troubleshooting-export-error-code-18 Regards Erik www.dvs4sbc.nl

Restart
What I usually do when I finish creating a layer is restart my virtual machine. Before I restart I make sure that the layer will not activate on startup. After the computer has been restarted I edit the layer as normal. If a file or folder still won't delete I check the permissions.
Check the permissions and
Check the permissions and ensure a restart are what should work the best. Thanks.
