Export Group Hierarchy from SEPM console

Hi all,

 

please advice is there any way to export all the groups from SEPM.

My requirment is that export the policies and groups from my production server and need to import the same in test server.

Hi,

You may not be able to "export" groups from SEPM but for sure you can easily export the policies levied on those groups. All you need to do is right click on the group and you have an option to export policy in .dat format. In similar fashion, Import the policy too.

you can export and import

you can export and import policies.groups needs to be manually created.

yu can restore the db from production on test machine.

Policy already done, facing issue with groups.

Hi Ajay, About the Groups,

Hi Ajay,

About the Groups, what best you can do is take a screenshot of the Clients page with all the groups shown and then you will have to create them manually.

As said above Policies can be exported but Groups cannot.

You can also install a new SEPM with Failover option to the old SEPM, this will give you all the groups and policies without exporting.

Just copy the database

You can just copy the prod database and restore to your testing SQL and SEPM.

That way, not only will you get the groups and all associated policies, but you get every single setting. You then just need to change a few of the settings to suit your test environment.
