All The queries are using Wise Software Manager Database

1) In Wise Software Manager Database we can virtualize a few repackaged apps but do they perform the same as the msi packages,
2) If we virtualize msi/mst packages. What effects do we notice.
3) Do vendor supplied MSI’s give problems(due to in built custom actions)? What’s the nature of these

Thanks

Do vsa's behave the same like msi's?

1)Yes, if you have build a msi in wise, and you create a VSA, it will behave the same like the msi.
2) You will see no effects, other then normal SVS behaviour. You will be able to activate and de-activate software.
3)Vendor msi's will not run correctly. Best thing is to run the vendor msi in a fresh machine, and create the vsa from there.

Msi and warranty

Vendor MSI's will loose support when you rebuild them. The ebst practace in this one is to build the VSA with the vendor MSI.
For instance Adobe.
Start capturing, and start the vendor msi.
Follow the install as normal.
After this is finished you have a working layer.
