  • 1.  Export policy from Windows Server then Import to Linux

    Hi All,

    I would like to ask whether is it possible to export policy from a Windows Server then import it to a Linux Server?

    Thank you for posting your query on Symantec community, would be glad to answer your query.

    It's possible because Linux and Windows uses same console which is browsers base so it's possible to export policy from Windows Server then import it to a Linux Server.

    Hello,

    You need to go onto the policy you want to export and saved it as a template.

    On a second time, copy the generated XML file to /vontu/Protect\config\templates on linux server.

    And create a new policy on linux with template and select the filename.

    Beware that the index part of the policy will not be imported

    hello

     all element not fully managed in policy wont be exported like

    - IDM

    - EDM

    - custom data identifier

    - sender/Recipient list

    - response rule

     You will have to define them on you rown in your linux installation in order to be able to use it.

    You may also have some issue if DLP version is different between windwos and linux.
