  • 1.  External disk doesn't have a valid volume

    Hi,

I'm using Encryption Desktop, and the other day started encrypting my external hard drive, with no power safety failure. After about 7% encryption, I paused the encryption and removed the external disk. Today I was going to continue the encryption and when clicking 'Encrypt' it says: 'This disk does not appear to have a valid volume. Symantec Drive Encryption can only encrypt disks with atleast one valid volume'. After reading about this on other websites, I realized I should have chosen Power Failure Safety for external disks, which isn't in anyway suggested by your product unfortunately. Now how do I decrypt or continue encrypting the disk?

    Hello Tosh9

You can try the recover command on the external disk and check if that helps restore its status.
