    Hello

I mapped an external hard disk drive to my DS Image folder and tried to image PC. The job starts well, run for a while after completing 18% the job stops making the error massage "The file write operation failed”. Does anyone have any suggestions?

    Regards

Have you tried running a scandisk or chkdsk on the drive? (I would check both the external drive and the drive that you are imaging.) It almost sounds like you are hitting a bad sector.

In addition, you should also make certain the network share you are attempting to image to is available. There could be a network issue occurring between the client and the share. You should install WireShark on the server and watch the connection. It might be necessary to bring a system up with WireShark on it in-place of where the client would be to see both sides of the network traffic pattern.

Also, check the event logs on the DS to see that the external hard drive is not being flaky in it's connection.

Did you check both drives (the external drive and the destination drive)?

The error states "Invalid argument". Can you provide the entire command line, including arguments?

    Hi
Thanks again for your kind help. I checked both external and internal HDD. I have mapped internal D drive with express image folder. It works properly. One thing I would like to say that when I tried to copy image file from internal HDD to External HDD it takes hours, even it is a very small (5GB) file.

The command line that I used

    rdeploy>Selected the image path>image name.IMG>Next>Next>Finish

    Thanks
    Regards

That could cause your problem, if the through put falls below a certain threshold. What happens if you take that external drive and connect it to another computer and copy the data to another drive. Just trying to eliminate the drive vs. the server it is connected to from being the problem.

I believe RDEDPLOY's error 46 has to do with permissions.  I would suggest that you post the log file after you get an error.
