Facing issues while performing Oracle restores.  

ERROR CODE/ MESSAGE:
Checked the failed restore job log and found the following in RMAN logs- 
RMAN-00571: ===========================================================
RMAN-00569: =============== ERROR MESSAGE STACK FOLLOWS ===============
RMAN-00571: ===========================================================
RMAN-03002: failure of recover command at 06/29/2011 16:11:56
ORA-01119: error in creating database file 'D:\ORACLE\DPE\SAPDATA2\SR3_17\SR3.DATA17'
ORA-27038: created file already exists
OSD-04010: option specified, file already exists

I Guess the database was not set to "nomount" state and as such we were getting this error. You need to refer to http://www.symantec.com/business/support/index?page=content&id=HOWTO24293 and then perform the relevant RMAN operations and then run the restore job.
