Facing issues while performing Oracle restores.  

Checked the failed restore job log and found the following in RMAN logs- 
RMAN-00571: ===========================================================
RMAN-00569: =============== ERROR MESSAGE STACK FOLLOWS ===============
RMAN-00571: ===========================================================
RMAN-03002: failure of recover command at 06/29/2011 16:11:56
ORA-01119: error in creating database file 'D:\ORACLE\DPE\SAPDATA2\SR3_17\SR3.DATA17'
ORA-27038: created file already exists
OSD-04010: option specified, file already exists

I Guess the database was not set to "nomount" state and as such we were getting this error. You need to refer to and then perform the relevant RMAN operations and then run the restore job.
