  • 1.  Failed to connect to GhostCast server with GhostCode 19932

Strange problem I hope someone can help with.  Ghostcast was working fine, pushing images without any problems.  Yesterday we started getting an error in the Ghostcast console when ever trying to establish a connection to the server - "Connection reset by client".   Sometimes I can get one or two clients to connect but then on the third we get the error message and all connections are dropped.   Restarting the client may or may not enable the client to connect to the session.  If a connection is successful the transfer speed is so slow that it is not a workable situation, in the neigbrohood of 8MB/min.  Normal tranfer rate is like ~500MB/min.

Running Symantec GhostCast Server version 8.2.0.117 on a Windows Server 2003 sp2.

Below is the Ghosterr.txt output file:

Did you change anything in your network environment?
It is interesting since it was working before.
what kind of network are you using?
I think they changed a lot of network stuff since ghost 8.2
so if you can try the latest version of ghost, it might help.

    Ethan,

You were correct, it was a network related problem.  Our network folks had made changes to the multicast settings which affected multicast between subnets.  Once the GhostCast server was moved to our local subnet it all started working fine again.

    Thanks for you reply.
