failed to connect the server

I recently installed symantec endpoint protection 11.0 software on a stadalone member server --windows 2003. I just could not connect to the localhost, every time it said "failed to connect to the server, please verify the server name and port" .
I did test connection in ODBC and it was successful.
I could not find any more information on the installation manual. ANybody know what I need to do to fix?
