Endpoint Protection

Hi all,

I am having trouble installing Symantec Endpoint Protection 11.0.6 MP3 on a Windows Server 2008 R2 64bit machine.

The error message is:

To continue the installation, make sure that the Internet Information Services (IIS) World Wide Wrb Publishing (W3SVC) is installed and running.  On computers that run IIS 7.0 or later, the following IIS role services must also be installed: ASP.NET, CGI, and IID 6.0 Management Compatibility.

I believe I have all the requirements needed to have MP3 installed (please see attached screen capture) but still no luck, I have tried to restart the machine and check all the related services also.

Please advice.

Thanks for your reply. I can verify that I have ASP.NET, CGI and all IIS 6.0 Management Compatibility sub-categories installed.

So the first two part does not apply.

According to "Checking Permission on IIS" section, I don't see anything that is expandable under Web Server (IIS), all I can see is the roles list and the services that are related to IIS are running, as seen attached.

I have installed the management console, and I can see the Internet Information Services Manager.

Also, I can verify that SYSTEM has FULL CONTROL of ALL THE SITES according to

What should be checked next?

Was an older version of SEPM running on this system? What other Symantec products are installed?

No SEP or any kind of anti-virus program(s) is / are installed.

I can verify that IIS 7 is installed successfully by going to https://127.0.0.1

I am not sure if it is related but I will put this up anyways.

IIS testing page only works on https://localhost but not http://localhost

Configuring IIS: Note: While it is possible for SEP clients to communicate with the SEPM IIS web site using HTTPS, it is not possible for the SEPM Tomcat server to communicate with the SEPM IIS web site using HTTPS. For this reason, it is not possible to configure IIS to require an SSL connection. Setting the SEPM IIS web site to require an SSL connection will cause the SEPM Service to fail.

Right, so how does it affect my installation? 

I can't even install SEPM right now, so I am not looking at the communication between SEP and SEPM. 

This document is related to how to configure SEPM for SSL, so I think it does not apply to me yet? Or am I wrong?

So does anyone have any idea? Or am I missing something?

Go to add componets and and iis and asp.net all options.

Then restart the server . then try to install the sepm.

Sorry for the delay in responding, I have been out of the office. At this point it may be best to open a case with Symantec support.
