    Hi Guys,

I'm facing trouble to boot up (and accordingly to Deploy) MS Surface Pro 2 with DS6.9 SP6.

I was firstly very happy to see that SP6 was released and was finally taking UEFI into support.

Unfortunately, booting with the Official Ethernet extension, the PXE fails to load and says "Failed to show PXE Menu".

Have you already seen that ? Is there any way to change the PXE menu mode to get it displayed correctly on Bios America ?

Thank you in advance for your help!

    Hello Fw7,

Have you succesfully boot UEFI devices others than this Surface one?

The PXE boot picks up and image but fails to display it. It could be that the computer recied a bootstrap.0 file in stead of the bootstrap.efi file.

    Hello Ludovic,

    Thanks for your comment.

I think you're right, but how can I force the detection of the bootstrap.efi? or how can I check which one is sent between .efi & .0?

Unfortunately, it's the only UEFI device I have at the moment, so I can't test much with others.
I'll try to look for another.

    Thank you again

    Hi Fw7,

Do you use PXE Forced Mode and have configured DHCP Options?

Check your DHCP Scope Settings to verify that you are not using DHCP Option 67!

You can force to use the .efi File using the Option 67 but be carful with this because if you are forcing to use the .efi file you cannot PXE boot bios machines...

    Check the following KB: http://www.symantec.com/docs/HOWTO93883

Unfortunately, i've tried the option 67 but it's still not succesfull.

I've been using the attached parameters with the "No DHCP server installed on the PXE Server" since our DHCP is located in another Windows 2003 server.

BTW, do you think the 2k3 DHCP server could be an issue?

    Thanks again for your help.
