Failure alerts for specific schedules on specific policies
Created: 07 Feb 2013 | 6 comments
I am trying to figure out how to be alerted for only Full backups of our Exchange database's. I am not as concerned with incremental as those are not even a business requirement, just a something we have added to boost RPO. However as of now using the "Job Finalized" condition, I can not specify the schedules to be alerted on. Does anyone have any idea how to do this or an idea for a different way to approach it?
Thanks,

Are you looking for alerts on job failures so you can respond to them immediately, or just for informational use, tracking, etc?

This would be used to respond to the failures as they arrise, not a reporting function.
Thanks,

Miles,
Unfortunately, there are no filter options for Alert Policies.

It looks that you can filter by "Job Database Instance Name" but there noway of listing that in the report.
So you end having to make a report for each individual database on the server. It would be nice to be able to have a report for a server and list all the backups that have failed for all instances and use the spreadsheet functionality to filter as required.
Hi Miles
You can filter it as only Full backup for exchange or for any specific client and generate a report
