Failure occurred in VM Snapshot level backup (Error bpbrm db_FLISTsend failed: file open failed (12)

Hi All,

I have upgraded Netbackup from 7.1.0.4 to 7.5.0.5 on before couple of weeks.Last two weeks VM level backup was ran successfully.This week most of the VM backup's are falling with the status code 13.(file read failed(13)).

In detailed status,it shows an error like Error bpbrm db_FLISTsend failed: file open failed (12).

hi ,

you would need to open a case with symatec to check if you are hitting with the  Etrack 2931643

if yes, you would need to get EEB from them.

Symantec Corporation has acknowledged that the above-mentioned issue (Etrack 2931643) is present in the current version(s) of the product(s) mentioned at the end of this article. Symantec Corporation is committed to product quality and satisfied customers.

This issue is currently being considered by Symantec Corporation to be addressed in the following release:

  • NetBackup 7.5 Maintenance Release 6 (7.5.0.6)

When NetBackup 7.5.0.6 is available, please access the following link for download and README information:

Workaround:
If this issue is experienced, please contact Symantec technical support, referencing this document ID and Etrack 3002480 to obtain an Emergency Engineering Binary (EEB) for NetBackup 7.5.0.4.
