    1. In SEP client 12.1 unable to stop the smc service even we if we disable the tamper protection.
    2. If we forget the uninstall password, when we are uninstall the client in client system, we have option in registry to disable the uninstall password. In 11.X and 12.X version unable to find those registry settings. Are there any settings for new versions?

    1. You cannot stop the service from : services.msc.  You can however stop the service by right-click on the shield icon in the task bar and selecting: "Disable Symantec Endpoint Protection"

    2. If you forget the uninstall password, you should be able to change the uninstall password from the SEPM server and than pushing out the new policy.  There is no registry value to do this automatically anymore.  For obvious security reasons.

    * You could of course remove the uninstall password from the SEPM as well.

    Thanks for information,

Now the problem is we have formatted the test server, so that we are unable  to uninstall the sep client.

shall we use cleanwipe tool to uninstall the cleint 12.1, or we need to use latest clenawipe tool to uninstall the sep 12.1 client.

    hi Ajit,

From run command we are able to stop the smc service, if we need to stop the smc service through remote how we can we stop the service?

you can use psexec command tool to run sms -stop and smc start, but you need to browse on the remote computer to smc.exe, which is located in SEP installation folder for SEP11 or SEP installation folder\version number for SEP12.1

you can use SEPprep to uninstall SEP12.1

it is not easy to deal with by u can handle SEP12.1 with it. The tool and instructions are here

    http://www.symantec.com/docs/TECH148513

and if you have free time, you can do it manually
