    seems like you have mutiple NIC, have you enabled on all of them
    start - run - ncpa.cpl
    right click each network and check if thats enabled....:)

    There is one active card in there, which I hope should suffice. Will this be a problem? Can I install SEP even though one of the NIC's is unplugged?

    that should not be a problem, one would be suffice.

    My HP server has 5 NIC's and they are teamed as Network Team 1#. The Network Team 1# has File and Print sharing checked but none of the other cards do.
    If you try to enable them it warns you that this action will disable the File & Print Sharing. Scratching my head on this one.
