File Permissions problem
Updated: 29 Jul 2010 | 4 comments
I have a very simple app which I try to virtualize using SVS 2.1.3071. The problem I encounter is that we can't login to the database using the virtual app. It throws an error. The only thing I've found out to date is that some of the .dll and .ocx file in system32 have strange file permissions (though I don't try to change those). There's a user sid with a question mark. Where does this come from?
Thanks for your help.

What database?
Hi,
what database are you trying to connect to, and how are you attempting to connect to it. As you probably know SVS has problems with ODBC. A bit more information would be usefull.
Cheers

There's a user sid with a question mark. Where does this come from?
My guessing would be that the SID comes from the user you used during capture and permissions were set during capture from the original setup.
AngeID is correct
You probably used an account to authenticate to your DB during capture. This account was ACL'd to those files and is probably not resolvable from the location you are trying to run it, hence the question mark on the SID.
