File Server Archiving - Search

Hi.
Enterprise Vault 8.0 SP1 for File Server Archiving.
Users seem to like to browse to their Home Folders on the File Server, and search for files. For example, they open up Windows Explorer, and open their H:\ drive, and search for "resume"
Windows XP client. (for the most part).
So if the file they are looking for has been archived, it does not show up in the search.
This is true weather the user has Windows Search or does not -
If I browse to http://vaultserver/enterprisevault/searcho2k.asp I can find the file - but is there any way I can make this transparent to the end user? I don't want to make them go to a special search window if possible.....
Thanks.

Does a placeholder exist for the file they are searching for? If so it should be found if for example I search by filename.
What search criteria have the users got?
When you do the search, or
When you do the search, or when the user does the search, using Windows Explorer, click on the More Advanced Options bit, and tick the box saying "Search Tape Backup".
Like this screenshot.
You'll then find the archived files too.

Mr. Wilcox,
Thank you - that explains it. I was not aware of that little tick box....
Thank you.
Please beware of it does ..
Please beware of it does .. it recalls all your archive files that match the search criteria. This might not be what you want end-users to do, for them to be able to find a different non-archived file.
