    Hi,

We are planng to use Symantec File Share Encryption in our Environment. I wanted to inqurie if an encrypted file/share is on a server and multiple users access the file, what resources are taxed? Server? PC? Both?

The decryption is done by the client software, which is on the PC.  The server would be responsible for writing any file changes, holding the temp file, etc.  More or less, the server is going to be taxed about the same as any other file server with multiple user access, with the encryption and decryption operations relying on the client (PC).

    Hi Mike,

Thanks for your reply. It means that primarily client will bear the load as they have to do encryption and decryption. The server is only taxed when it has to write changes back to disk. Correct?
