After an upgrade from SAV10 to SEP11-.0.5 few of the clients are shoiwng  "File system auto-protect is malfunctioning " and Antivirus and Antispyware status is warning. I tried restarting the services, restarting the systems but could not resolve this. Gone through many posts and resolution provided by Symantec http://service1.symantec.com/support/ent-security.nsf/854fa02b4f5013678825731a007d06af/222e9a831e8f88a88825739a0075c4bf?OpenDocument but could not fix it.

Any solutions ? except reinstalling SEP ..

    Thanks

Try by repairing the SEP from add/remove programs..

Did you run the SEP support tool? You can also run the testsec tool to check for permissions issue.

Hey, I tried out deleting the old defs folders from Virusdefs, then restarted the service. Clients are perfectly working fine after this..
