We have SEP version 11.4202.75 on a Windows Vista.
The machine had a blue screen last time, so HP told us to do a restore.
Since then, when you hover on the SEP it says "there are multiple problem", and when you click on it, it says "File system auto-protec is malfunction".
Tried to uninstall SEP from control panel - uninstall program, but it just hang and never finished.
How can I fix this problem ?
    Thank you very much.

Before you use Clean wipe on a 64 bit machine, u need to follow a different method instead of dorectly executing the program.

To run CleanWipe on 64-bit operating systems:
    ---------------------------------------------
    1. Copy the CleanWipe folder to the target computer.

    2. Open the CleanWipe folder and double-click the CleanWipe.exe file.

    3. When you are prompted, browse to a location where you want the files to be copied and then click Start to extract the files.

If you click Start without selecting a location, the files are extracted to the Windows\Temp folder.

    4. On 64-bit operating systems, CleanWipe must be launched manually. To launch CleanWipe, open a Command Prompt window (using Run As administrator). In the Command Prompt window, go to the folder that contains the extracted files. At the command prompt, enter RunCleanWipe to run the RunCleanWipe.bat file. Do not run the file from Windows Explorer.

Remember to click Yes in response to all prompts.

For more info have a look at read me.txt which will be there when you get Clean wipe.
U need to open a case with symantec to get the file.

    Thank you for the replies.

    To Prachand (Symantec Employee):
We have installed the latest virus definition and still the same problem.
The other step is to uninstall and reinstall, and we are having problem uninstalling or repairing, it just hang hang at 85% during "stopping submission service".

The SEP is downloaded from the school, so in order to open a case with symantec to get the "clean wipe" program the school needs to open the case, is that correct ?

If I could open the case myself (instead of my school), can you give me the link to open the case ?
    Thank you

You can either call 1-800-927-4017 or go to mysupport.symantec.com to open a case.

I went to mysupport.symantec.com, and login using user id faujong or fniles, and it always tells me the password is incorrect. Can I open a case even though I download SEP from my school ? Or, shall my school open the case ?

OK, I requested to reset my password and now I logged in. Is it correct that in mysupport.symantec.com I want to click on "Submit a Request" ?
What category should I select to request for the clean wipe ?
What shall I enter for "Order number", "Customer number","lincense ID", "Certificate Number" or "Serial Number" because I downloaded the software from my school ?
