File System Auto-Protect Notifications don't notify

Created: 28 Feb 2013 | 6 comments

All our instances we've had viruses detected on removeable media (CDs, USB flash drives, etc.), but there is no notification. SEPM policy shows "Display a notification message on the infected computer" is enabled. Is there anything else that should be looked at?

Is this group inheriting the policy from the parent group? Could inheritance have been broken somehow and a different policy assigned?

You're on here all the time :)

The group the PCs are in are not inheriting from the top most level, but the policies are shared and show same settings.

cool It's where the cool kids hang out...

I was flipping thru the release notes for 11.x but didn't see anything in the way of bugs when it comes to alerting. What's the exact version of 11.x? How about the OS of the affected PCs? A mix or one specific OS?

Haha, nice.

Windows XP SP3 all over. SEPM/SEP 11.0.7200.1147.

Would sending out a policy update to that group would work?

You could try but if the clients have been checking in, they should already have it
