FileConnect: trouble downloading files from updated site
It's been a couple of months since I've logged into the Symantec FileConnect site to download files and have noticed the site has been changed.
Due to my work site's security settings in IE 8, I am unable to download from the site because it forces me to use a Download Manager.
I get an error that states "Failure to run an Add-In".
I think it's some kind of ActiveX content and we are blocked.
My security folks has attempted various settings but are still unable to fix the problem.
The old site had an option to use "HTTP Download" which was the only way I could download the files because the Download Manager on that site resulted in the same error.
Is there a way to use "HTTP Download" on the new site, or can you explain what conditions and settings are necessary in IE 8 to get this to work.
So far, I'm dead in the water in getting these files.
You would think as security minded as Symantec is, they would have taken in account customer work sites with a strict security posture would encounter problems like this.
