Intel,Altiris Group

In our Image they have created a reg key that shows the date and the image version.  This is for our local site techs resource to know what version they might be working with.  Is there a way to create a filter/query within Altiris (Dell Management Client) that can show clients by this reg key?  Would love to show a report of machines that didn't get reimaged and also a report to the school board of all the hard work our techs did this summer as well.

This is possible, it just takes a bit of work and crosses a few solutions.

Prerequisites:
- SMP
- Inventory Solution 7

Outline:

1) Configure Inventory Solution to scan for the reg key (Perhaps using a custom Inventory?)
2) Write a SQL Filter that joins vcomputer & whichever table inventory solution stores the file data in.

I know the above is pretty general- I don't often work with Inventory solution and don't have much in the way of specific to offer. It *might* be easier to put a blank file with a name of your iso version. That way File Inventory may be able to pick the file name up without having to write a custom inventory.

Any Inventory Solution users care to comment?
