"Failed to connect to the firewall channel" what does it mean? Where I check in SMS for SMTP? I applied patch 182 too.

    Check in default page (https://localhost:41443)
Status -> logs -> (type: MTA Logs)

Error of type "firewall channel" may occours due to out of resources in your SMS SMTP server or SMS is installed in the same server as the ISA Server or Exchange.

What's the hardware configuration of your SMS SMTP server?

My server is a Dell Optiplex with 4 Gb RAM and Core 2 duo.

What type this resource can do this issue ?

In Knowledge Base, "Error: "Failed to connect to the firewall channel" shows in the logs for Symantec Mail Security 5 for SMTP" Symantec says:

    "Solution:
A common cause of this error is insufficient physical memory. To stop the errors increase the physical memory. If you need a temporary workaround, disable items for Email Firewall Policies until you can increase the physical memory.
    "

    Hello

My mailgateway server (installed SMS for SMTP 5.01) is HP DX2200MT 2GB RAM. Before I used to Brightmail 6 in same server and I don't get it any problem.

In my network work under Checkpoint R61 (but my mail gateway machine used DMZ). if coming new email, filtering after forwarding to exchange server.

But filter-hub.exe problem is very big for our. Because this problem did night, and we don't get new email as morning.. after filter-hub_log.txt get to size starting to so big.

    What's wrong?

Below is the symantec doc that solved my (same) probelm.

I was running the latest release, with patch 182 and still had issues until I followed the directions here:

    http://service1.symantec.com/support/ent-gate.nsf/854fa02b4f5013678825731a007d06af/b400088c9adb16948825733f006cb0fa?OpenDocument

If the link above does not work, then search the knowledgebase for Document ID: 2007847365975498

    Good luck.
