  • 1.  Filter-Hub.exe running at 95%

    Hiya,

we having a problem with the Filter-Hub.exe  running at upto 99% and memory usage is around the 900MB mark, when this happens we notice that there is a real slow down in e-mail delivery (no huge surprise), mails can take up to 45-1hr to pass thru.

I've seen on the forum that other people had this issue and it was to do with log files filling up the drive, but that's not happening here. In fact the filter-hub log file size is 0KB, which to me indicates something else amiss...

I've just increased the log level on the 4 components up to Information.

As far as we are aware we are running the latest versions and patches (187)

    thanks

    John

I think we may have found what is causing the CPU usage to increase to 95%.

We have additional rules setup in our compliance policy, one of them contains approx 13 conditons, all of them filtering on the subject.  Now I've disabled the rule the CPU usage has returned to a normal level.

The downside being, we are getting loads "High Quality & Luxury watches" e-mails coming through, so not an ideal situation to be in

    Hiya,

    me again

We are still having this problem, disabling some of the compliance policy rules appeared to work for a while, but we are now getting the same problems again with filter-hub.exe hogging all the CPU resources.

Has anyone else had any similar issues? (and hopefully found a solution!)

    thanks

    John

crikey, it's getting lonely in here...

I've upgraded to patch 189 and that appears to have sorted the problem, although I am having to restart the SMS SMTP Tomcat service every now and again when the delivery queue starts building up

    Hi jkeogh,

I regularly see filterhub and conduit spike the cpu's and I'm also at 189.  At some points I see bursts up around 95% but not for very long.  Is yours contentious? What is the hardware (cpu and memory)?

I am getting the conduit.exe spike as well. Has anyone found a definite solution to this issue?

Same conduit.exe problem here: it spikes to 100%, and stay there for some minutes...

It didn't happen with SMSME 5.0 :smileyindifferent:

We have scrapped Information Foundation. We have opted for a hosted spam filtering service. It is much more cost effective. We pay about $1.50 per email address per month for the service and we are a small business. We were able to get conduit to stop spiking by turning off the auto protect setting. After all of the problems it was very cumbersome to get the filtering just right and we still had problems with over all memory load and CPU load.
