  • 1.  Filter modify permissions?

    I'd like to give our helpdesk ability to add computers to a group of filters (all in one folder under manage - filters).

    What's the easiest way to do this?  I'd prefer to give them ability to modify existing filters only in this folder, or at least to only create within that folder.

    If you give them read to only that filter folder, then they will not see any of the others. You can then assign additional permissions to that folder as well as certain privileges to the actual role if required. I will take a closer look tonight if you have not managed to work it out by then.

    I'm always afraid to mess with permissions, but it seems like it was an easy change.  For anyone else who may be looking, I went to security role manager, changed role to helpdesk tech, selected view - filters, selected the helpdesk filters folder and just added write permissions.
