This issue has been solved. See solution.

Good morning,

I have a problem with Backup Exec 2012, I am doing backup of a virtual machine with redhat linux, I'm doing with vmware agent.

This virtual machine has not installed the linux agent nor have VMware Tools installed.

I disabled and enabled AOFO, but the same error is as follows:

Final error: 0xe000959b - An Attempt to take a snapshot of a virtual machine failed because it was unable to quiesce a file system.

Attached picture and error.

I need help with this as I need to run the backup using the VMware agent.

Hello Nelson,

   Have you tried to take the snapshot of that Linux VM manually from the ESX server ? Is that successfully completed taking the snapshot?

Have you checked the link below if not please try the steps mentioned

From the link above try taking snapshot from ESX with 2nd option checked and see if that works. As you already have mentioned you have removed the vmware tools but have not mentioned if snapshot works from ESX so have gave this link which shows snap and how to take snap from ESX.
