    Dear friends 

    This is my first trouble

    I need yours help, i have search the files  .JAR this files are used with portable program which is in folders at various locations, but the Altiris not find different files only .exe

    Check your advanced settings of "Collect Full Inventory" policy to make sure that inclusion/exclusion is set correctly for a software scan

    I try add the software name in the folders and in the files, but not find in the full inventory.

    I did was:


    I added the complete unit C: into tab "Folders"

    Tab Folders.jpg


    I added part of name the software into tab "Files"

    Tab Folders.jpg

    Under "Files" you need to add .JAR. But beware, if there's lots of .JAR files in your environment, this can slow down inventory .nse processing significantly. Test extensively, roll out gradually and keep a close watch on your Event Queue.

    But how to find the files .JAR in the query, because this software it´s a portable and found to a lot of folders.

     

    The case below in my machine the software encountered into 'C:\Program Files\Altiris\IText'

    Looks like problem is that default rules of "Collect Full Inventory" has exclusion for *Altiris* folder path and *:\Program Files\Altiris\ to do not scan data there, therefore you don't have any *.jar records in database, because they are located in excluded locations

    You should probably clone one of the built in Inventory Policies and customise it for just JAR files, you don't want to remove the exclusions for all files.
