Hello Community!

Scenerio:

I am currently trying to find unmanaged or non-installed SEP computers on the network.

I was told Symantec removed the "FInd Unmanged Clients" when we moved from v11 to v12.

Notes:

I have downloaded and currently looking through the Administraton Guide for Symantec Endpoint Protection and Symantec Network Access Control.

I have found on page 42 the following:

You can perform the following tasks from the Clients tab:

■ Add groups, computer accounts, and user accounts.
■ Import an Organizational Unit or a Container.
■ Import users directly from the Active Directory or an LDAP server.
■ Run commands on groups.
■ Search for clients.
■ Set the display filter for a group.
■ Find unmanaged computers.

Question:

Is the "Find Unmanaged Computers" still avaliable in v12?

or

Was the "FInd Unmanaged Computers" removed?

I appreciate everyone's time and responses.

Thanks!

If you are using 12.1 find

If you are using 12.1 find umanaged computers is now part of the client deployment wizard. This wizard can be accessed from the common tasks drop down menu in the top right hand corner of the home page tab. You will want to select install protection client to computers from this menu.

Your satisfaction is very important to us.If you find above information helpful or it has resolved your issue...please mark it accordingly :)

https://www-secure.symantec.com/connect/forums/where-find-unmanaged-computers-sep-121-enterprise-beta

Hi DaveVe,

With SEP12, we decided to merge the old clientremote tool and Find Unmanaged Computers into one.  The new version is called the Client Deployment Wizard.

You can find it in two places - first from the Home screen, choose "Install Protection Client to Computers" from the "Common Tasks" drop down at the top right, or alternatively, from the Clients tab, when you are in the client list, click "Add a Client" on the left hand side, just above "Add computer account"

Both will launch the CDW and allow you to search your network, find all your PC's and helps you deploy the right client to each one.

Give it a go and let us know what you think!

thanks
