finding and restoring redirected folders and a users contacts
Created: 15 Feb 2013 | 3 comments
i had a failure of a windows sbs 2008 server and could not migrate it over to a new server . instead i clean installed on a new server with sbs 2011 standard but failed to have a couple users save there my documents in the redirected folders and the email contacts and calenders
i have backups of the failed server including exchange in SSR 2011 for small business server edition with granular restore. i can mount the two mail stores i have in the exchange tab but just see email no contacts - where do i find them
when i find the folder redirections the folders are empty - is the information hidden somewhere else

To restore exchange you need to use the GRO option.

Hi
GRO does not recover Calendar, Contacts, Tasks, Notes or Folder Lists items from Microsoft Exchange 2003, 2007 and 2010 data stores.

Don't forget to give a "Thumbs Up" or Mark as "Solution" if someones advice has helped you.
i had already read those articles - so is there another procedure to getting items such as restoring the exchange mail store to another temporary mail store in the now running exchange server in the SBS 2011 box ?
