  • 1.  Fix Mac System Behind WDE

I have a Mac Powerbook using WDE. There is a problem with the os requiring a reinstall. The standard apple solutions involve booting from a disc - which doesn't promt for the WDE password or booting the Mac attached to another computer as an external firewire drive - which also doesn't work of course. I can get into "single user mode" . Is there a way to decrypt from there so I can reinstall the os?

    Thanks for any help

You will need to decrypt disk before making any changes to OS

Install 10.2 MP3 which includes lots of fixes for MAC.

    as a last resort workaround:

take a fresh disk, install os x and pgp,
mount your broken system, migrate data from broken to working system,
use asr or disk utility from 10.6 to copy stuff from working back to broken system.
