I receive the error below when i want to view some articles on the http://www.symantec.com/business/support/index?page=home web site. Any ideas why? Not all the time and not all articles. Thank you

Do you have any specific article references?  That would help enormously.

Are you looking for Wise content as you have posted this question in a Wise forum?

I have passed this on to the Symwise team for feedback.

So this may not be reproducible over time for a given article.

So we can only hope this problem was temporary and the systm got itself back in working order.

As with any new system release, the new SymWISE system has had a few issues, and this is one of them. The root cause stems from the indexer pointing to an attached file that is on our staging server instead of the production server. This is being worked on right now, and we expect a fix soon.

Until then, whenever you see a file attachment that is listed without being part of an article that describes the attachment, you will often see the Forbidden error when clicking on it. However, there are generally articles that describe the same .PDF or other attachment, and the link to the attachment is shown within the body of the article. When you click on that attachment, you should be able to access it just fine.

As a workaround until this is corrected, if you see the Forbidden error, look in your previous search results for another article that contains a description of the attachment as well as a link to the attachment. That attachment should load fine.

    Thanks!

We apologize for the inconvenience this issue is causing you. Know that we are working with our website vendor to get it resolved as soon as possible. In the meantime there is a work around to get to the actual PDF or attachment.

The two work around steps are:

    1. Right click the Search link that causes the "Forbidden" error and select properties to locate the source container document identifier; Note:You may need to DECODE the HTTP to find the container document identifier.

    2. Search for the DOC or TECH identifier, or you can add it to the end of this URL

    http://www.symantec.com/business/support/index?page=content&id=DOC2152

In this case the document identifier is DOC2152. This is the container document that contains the Service Desk User Guide PDF attachment.

Did you try the workaround documented in the posting above yours?
